Yoshi's Moves

Master these abilities to navigate the storybook world.

Gobble

Yoshi uses his signature tongue to gobble up creatures and items. Gobbled creatures can be turned into eggs for throwing.

Throwing Eggs

Throw eggs at creatures, objects, and distant targets. Eggs bounce off walls and can hit multiple targets.

Flutter Jump & Ground Pound

Flutter Jump allows Yoshi to hover mid-air for extra distance. Ground Pound lets him slam down to break blocks and defeat enemies below.

Tail Flick

Pick up creatures with Yoshi's tail and place them on his back. Throw them or use their unique abilities to solve puzzles.

Sprint

Break into a sprint to dash through areas at high speed. Nearby creatures react when Yoshi sprints past them.

Observe

Watch and study creature behavior to understand their patterns. Duck down to hide and observe without being noticed.

Creatures of the Storybook

Each creature has unique behaviors — observe and interact with them wisely.

Crazee Dayzee

A cheerful flower creature found across habitats in various colors. Can be gobbled up and used as an egg.

Behedger

A burrowing creature that tunnels underground and breaks through rocks. Useful for uncovering hidden paths.

Plumebrella

A gentle creature that acts like an umbrella. Hold it to float slowly downwards and reach new areas.

Slugarang

A slug-like creature that can be thrown like a boomerang to hit distant targets and collect items.

Nep-enut

A growing creature that absorbs smaller versions of itself to grow larger and more powerful.

Thudd

A sleepy giant creature that gobbles up smaller creatures. Approach with caution!

Little Mouser

A small mouse-like creature that scurries around the storybook world. Often found near items.

Fooly Flower

A playful flower creature that pops up unexpectedly. Can be interacted with for surprises.

Find hidden items and collectibles throughout the storybook pages.

Coin

Collect coins throughout each level.

Red Coin

Rare red coins hidden in tricky spots.

Hearts

Restore Yoshi's health with hearts.

Balloon

Pop balloons for bonus rewards.

Poochy Pup

Find hidden Poochy Pups in each stage.

Flowerjack

Special flower items with unique effects.

Chapter 1: Wildwoods

The adventure begins in the lush Wildwoods — a vibrant forest chapter filled with Crazee Dayzees, hidden paths, and the first encounter with Mr. E's lost pages.

The Flip Mechanic

Discover a unique gameplay feature: Yoshi can flip between the front and back of storybook pages. Each side reveals different environments, enemies, and secrets.
